Super Short cage — designed for 20" wheeled bikes

The cage is sized specifically to clear the smaller chainstay and wheel clearance envelope of 20" bikes — kids mountain bikes, folding bikes, and compact urban builds. The standard Advent cage is too long for these applications; the Super Short solves that without changing the derailleur's performance character.

Ratchet-and-pawl clutch — tuned for short cage geometry

The clutch mechanism prevents chain slap and drop under rough conditions. On the Super Short, the clutch tension and return spring have been re-calibrated for the shorter cage arm — maintaining consistent chain tension without over-loading the lighter chain typical of smaller builds. The clutch is easily adjustable and field-repairable.

Direct path cable routing — smooth, responsive shifting

The cable runs a direct line from the anchor point to the parallelogram — less friction, less cable housing flex, more consistent pull weight. Shifts feel the same whether the cable is new or has been ridden in.

Fully metal body — rigid and damage resistant

The entire body is metal rather than the partial-plastic construction found on lower-tier derailleurs. Greater rigidity means the hanger alignment stays consistent under impact, and the derailleur is more likely to survive a tip-over without cracking.

11–34T to 11–38T cassette compatibility

Works with 9-speed cassettes in the 11–34T to 11–38T range — wide enough for single-chainring builds on smaller bikes where a broad gear range is needed to compensate for the smaller wheel diameter. Pair with any 9-speed cassette in that window.
