A step up from pure XC — Nobby Nic-inspired centre knobs, blocky side lugs for cornering, and KevlarGuard protection across all three wheel sizes.
The Schwalbe Tough Tom is built for beginner to intermediate riders tackling XC and all-mountain terrain. Centre knobs drawn from the Nobby Nic design deliver braking and acceleration traction, while the blocky side knobs provide confident cornering control on loose and mixed surfaces. KevlarGuard puncture protection runs across all sizes for reliable trail durability. Wire bead, SBC compound, 50 TPI — available in 26", 27.5", and 29".

Nobby Nic-inspired centre knobs
The centre tread pattern borrows from Schwalbe's popular Nobby Nic design — alternating knobs that bite for braking and drive traction on climbs, without excess rolling resistance on flat sections.
Blocky side knobs for cornering control
Tall, widely spaced side lugs engage when the bike leans into a corner — giving confident grip on loose dirt, gravel, and roots where an XC-only tread would wash out.
KevlarGuard protection — all sizes
KevlarGuard uses a Kevlar fibre belt under the tread to stop sharp trail debris from penetrating the casing. A step up from the basic K-Guard layer — more protection for rougher terrain.
