Short Haul only — rear compartment specific. The Carryall Trunk is shaped for the enclosed rear section of the Short Haul cargo bike and is not compatible with other Tern models including the Quick Haul. Verify your bike is the Short Haul using Tern's compatibility checker before ordering. 5.5 L storage volume Fidlock magnetic lid — one-handed Hidden contents out of sight

The Tern Carryall Trunk is a purpose-fitted storage bag for the Short Haul's built-in rear compartment — a covered section of the bike's rear section that sits below the rack platform. The Carryall Trunk is shaped to fill this space, turning unused enclosed frame volume into organised, accessible storage. Contents sit out of view inside the compartment and are accessed via a Fidlock magnetic lid that opens one-handed. The EVA construction is water-resistant and wipe-clean. A velcro divider separates the interior into two sections; a zipper mesh pocket provides additional organisation within the main compartment. Running the Carryall Trunk alongside panniers and rear rack cargo means a separate, secure compartment for personal items — wallet, keys, phone, sunglasses — without digging through a pannier.

Short Haul rear compartment — built-in space, fully used

The Short Haul has an enclosed rear section below the rack platform — a cavity that exists in the frame design regardless of what accessories are fitted. Without the Carryall Trunk, this space goes unused. The trunk is specifically shaped to fill it: the dimensions match the compartment geometry so the bag sits securely inside rather than floating with excess space. It's not a generic bag attached to the bike; it's a liner for a space that's already there.

Contents hidden — personal items out of sight

The trunk sits inside the enclosed rear compartment of the Short Haul, so its contents are not visible from outside the bike. A wallet, keys, or phone left in an open pannier are visible and accessible to anyone walking past a parked bike; the same items in the Carryall Trunk are out of sight inside the frame section. The Fidlock lid adds a positive closure on top of the concealment.

    Fidlock magnetic lid — single-buckle one-handed access

The Fidlock magnetic buckle on the lid opens with a pull and snaps shut when the lid is pressed closed — the same magnetic-assist mechanism used on the Cargo Hold pannier closures. Opening the trunk one-handed while standing over the bike is straightforward; no unclipping, unzipping, or two-handed operation required. The magnetic element ensures the lid snaps shut reliably rather than flopping open if not fully closed.

Velcro divider + zipper mesh pocket

The velcro divider separates the 5.5-litre interior into two zones — one for bulkier items, one for smaller ones — or removes entirely for a single open compartment. The zipper mesh pocket on the interior provides a separate secure section for flat items: cards, cash, folded documents, or a spare key that needs to stay separate from other contents. Both organising features are accessible from a single lid opening.

    Panniers and rack remain free

The Carryall Trunk fits inside the frame section and does not occupy rack space or pannier rails. A Short Haul running the Carryall Trunk plus panniers plus rear rack cargo has all three storage systems operating simultaneously — the trunk holds personal items, the panniers hold groceries or gear, the rack platform holds anything that doesn't fit elsewhere. The three systems are complementary rather than competing for the same space.

    EVA — water-resistant, lightweight, wipe-clean

EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a closed-cell foam/polymer material that does not absorb water — rain and spills bead on the surface. The Carryall Trunk's EVA construction makes it resistant to the moisture that accumulates in a rear compartment from road spray and condensation. At ~244g it adds almost nothing to the bike's weight. Cleaning is a wipe with a damp cloth rather than hand-washing or air-drying fabric.
