The SRAM DB4 A1 is a MTB-specific hydraulic disc brake with a new lever architecture that prioritises low-maintenance mineral oil operation and Code-comparable stopping power. The stealth lever body positions the hose exit parallel to the handlebars for a clean bar setup. Sold individually — left and right versions are lever-specific and must be ordered separately. Both variants are in stock.
Highlights
Mineral oil system — low maintenance
Uses Maxima Mineral Oil rather than DOT fluid. Mineral oil is less hygroscopic than DOT fluid — it absorbs less moisture over time, meaning the fluid degrades more slowly and bleeds are required less frequently under normal conditions.
Code-comparable stopping power
Heavy-duty braking performance in line with SRAM's Code series. Built for trail and enduro MTB conditions where consistent, high-power braking is required on long descents.
Stealth lever body — hose parallel to bar
The right and left specific lever body design routes the hydraulic hose parallel to the handlebar, rather than angled out from the lever body. Cleaner appearance and easier bar-bag / accessory installation.
Easy adjustment access
New lever architecture features tool-accessible reach and contact point adjustments. Lever reach can be set without removing bar accessories — straightforward to dial in for different hand sizes.
SRAM Large pad compatible
Uses SRAM Large brake pads — the same pad standard as the Code series. Wide pad availability and interchangeability with other Code-family calipers.
